Meet Zubair Mansoori — the engineer behind DOTT
Design Of Today & Tomorrow (DOTT) is a Lucknow-based interior design and turnkey execution studio. It exists because too many beautiful designs fall apart on site — and someone who understands both drawings and concrete can stop that from happening.

Zubair trained as a civil engineer and spent his early career on construction sites — the place where interior drawings either survive contact with reality or quietly get redrawn by a carpenter. He founded DOTT in 2017 to close that gap.
His approach is unusual in this industry and deliberately so: every DOTT project starts with a measured survey and ends with an itemised bill of quantities. Design decisions are tested against structure, services and buildability before they reach a mood board. Clients notice it most in the things that don't happen — no mid-project cost jumps, no “we found a beam” conversations, no wardrobe that won't clear the fan.

What we believe
Four rules we don't bend
They cost us work occasionally. They've never cost us a client.
Measure, don't assume
Laser survey before design. Shop drawings before production. Site marking before installation. Assumption is the most expensive material on any site.
Design for the resident, not the render
The photograph lasts a day. The kitchen you cook in twice daily lasts fifteen years. We optimise for the second one.
Build it once, properly
BWP ply in wet zones, correct hardware ratings, sealed edges, tested waterproofing. Cheap joinery fails in the third monsoon and costs more than doing it right.
The studio
Small team, senior people, no handoffs
DOTT runs deliberately lean. The person who takes your brief is the person who draws it and the person who walks the site. There is no junior relay, no account manager between you and the work.
Around that core sits a vetted network of 42 trade partners — carpenters, electricians, false ceiling crews, stone fabricators, painters and modular manufacturers — most of whom have worked with us for over five years. They know our tolerances. That's why our snag lists are short.
